How this works
Conversion runs both directions at the live mid-market rate (NPR per 1 unit of your currency):
to NPR : npr = amount ร rate
from NPR : home = amount / rate
buys โ : sqft = nprValue / constructionRateThe mid-market rate is the fair reference rate before any bank margin. To see the true cost of an actual transfer, use the Remittance Cost Calculator.
Worked example
Converting 10,000 USD at a live rate of 152 gives NPR 15,20,000. At NPR 3,500/sq.ft that funds roughly 434 sq.ft of construction back home.

FAQ
How do I convert my currency to Nepalese Rupees?
Pick the country you live in, enter the amount, and this converter shows the value in NPR at the current live mid-market exchange rate. You can also flip the direction to convert NPR back into your home currency. The rate updates hourly and is clearly dated.
Is this the rate my bank will give me?
This shows the mid-market (interbank) rate โ the fair reference rate before any provider margin. Banks and remittance apps usually give a slightly worse rate and add a fee, so you will receive a little less. To see the true cost of an actual transfer, use the Remittance Cost Calculator, which compares your provider's rate to the mid-market rate.
Why does it show square feet of construction?
Because most people converting money to NPR on this site are funding a house build. The converter shows roughly how much built-up area your money would fund at a construction rate you can edit, so you can see your money in real, on-the-ground terms โ not just an abstract number.
Does the converter use live rates and are they safe?
Yes. Rates are fetched hourly from a public exchange-rate source through our own server, so no keys or personal data are exposed in your browser. If the live feed is briefly unavailable, the tool uses a saved estimate and clearly says so, and the rate always stays editable.
Which currencies are supported?
The major Nepali-diaspora currencies, including the US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro, Gulf currencies (AED, SAR, QAR, KWD, OMR, BHD), Malaysian Ringgit, South Korean Won, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar, Israeli Shekel, and Indian Rupee.
