Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)

A BBS is a tabulated list of every reinforcement bar in a structure, with its shape, size, cut length, and quantity.

Bill of Quantities (BOQ)

A BOQ is an itemised document listing the materials, quantities, and costs required to build a project.

Building Setback

A setback is the minimum required open distance between a building and the plot boundary or the centre of the adjoining road.

Clear Cover

Clear cover is the distance between the outermost reinforcement and the nearest concrete surface.

Concrete Grade (M20, M25…)

Concrete grade denotes its characteristic compressive strength in N/mm² at 28 days, written as M followed by the strength.

Development Length (Ld)

Development length is the minimum embedment a rebar needs in concrete to develop its full design stress through bond.

EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment)

An EMI is the fixed monthly payment a borrower makes to repay a loan's principal and interest over its term.

Floor Area Ratio (FAR)

FAR is the ratio of a building's total covered floor area across all storeys to the area of the plot it sits on.

Ground Coverage

Ground coverage is the percentage of a plot that the building footprint is allowed to occupy at ground level.

Naapi (Ropani–Aana–Paisa–Daam)

Naapi is Nepal's traditional land-measurement system, with the hilly-region units Ropani, Aana, Paisa, and Daam.

RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete)

RCC is concrete strengthened with steel reinforcement bars so the member can resist both compression and tension.

Stamp Duty & Registration

Stamp duty is the government tax payable on registering a property transfer, charged as a percentage of the transaction value.
