How this works
Adhesive follows the product's stated coverage. Grout uses tile dimensions, joint width and depth, and an approximate density of 1.7 kg/L. Purchases are rounded up to complete bags.

Worked example
For 50 m2 of 600 x 600 mm tile with a 3 mm wide, 9 mm deep joint, 5 kg/m2 adhesive coverage, and 10% allowance, the estimate is 275 kg of adhesive, rounded to 14 bags of 20 kg. Grout is calculated separately from the joint geometry.

FAQ
How much tile adhesive is needed per square metre?
Coverage varies with tile size, trowel notch, substrate flatness, back-buttering, and product density. Typical planning values range from about 3.5 kg/m2 for wall tiles to 7 kg/m2 or more for large-format floor tiles.
How is grout quantity calculated?
Grout depends on tile length and width, joint width, joint depth, tiled area, and grout density. Smaller tiles and wider or deeper joints require more grout.
Should adhesive and grout be rounded to full bags?
Yes. The calculator reports theoretical kilograms and rounds purchasing quantities up to full product bags using the bag sizes you enter.
Does the estimate include tile quantity?

Can cement mortar replace tile adhesive?
