How much does a borewell cost in Nepal?
The cost depends mainly on drilling depth, ground condition, casing depth, pipe and cable length, pump capacity, access, and testing. Enter a local driller's rates for a useful project budget.
Is the drilling rate the same for every soil and rock type?
No. Soft soil, gravel, boulders, and hard rock can have different rates and drilling methods. Ask the contractor whether one blended rate or separate strata rates will apply.
Does the calculator guarantee that water will be found?
No. A borewell estimate cannot predict water yield. Hydrogeological review, nearby well records, test drilling, and yield testing remain important.
Why is casing depth separate from total depth?
Casing commonly protects unstable upper strata, while the complete bore may continue deeper through competent material. Your driller should specify the required casing depth and pipe type.
Are permits and water-quality tests included?
Only when you include them in development and testing cost. Confirm current local authority requirements and arrange laboratory testing before using the water for drinking.
