Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)
Also known as: BBS, bar schedule
A BBS is a tabulated list of every reinforcement bar in a structure, with its shape, size, cut length, and quantity.
A Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) details each type of reinforcement bar — its mark, diameter, shape code, number of pieces, cutting length, and total weight. It guides the steel fixers on site and lets you order the exact quantity of steel.
Cutting lengths in a BBS account for hooks, bends, and the cover-offset geometry of stirrups and ties. Accurate scheduling reduces steel wastage and avoids both shortfalls and over-ordering.
Bar weight is computed with the standard d² / 162.2 formula (kg per metre), then multiplied by the cut length and bar count.
