Marble & Granite Flooring Calculator Nepal
Estimate marble or granite slab count, wastage, adhesive bags, and material cost for residential floors.
Room 12.00 m² · 34 slabs net · each slab 0.360 m² · adhesive ≈ 66.0 kg.
How this works
room area = L × W
slabs net = ceil(room / slab area)
slabs ordered = ceil(net × (1 + waste%))
adhesive bags = ceil(room × kg/m² × (1+waste%) / bag kg)Worked example
4 × 3 m room with 600×600 mm slabs and 10% waste:
- 12 m² room → 34 slabs net → 38 ordered
- Adhesive from coverage × area × waste

FAQ
How much marble or granite do I need for a room?
Multiply room length by width for area, divide by the area of one slab or tile, round up, then add wastage for cuts and breakage. This calculator also estimates adhesive bags and a material budget from per-m² stone rates.
What waste percentage should I allow for stone flooring?
For simple rectangular rooms with modular sizes, 8–10% is common. Large-format slabs, diagonal layouts, many niches, or fragile marble may need 12–15%. Always dry-lay critical rooms before final fixing.
Is marble price in Nepal quoted per square foot or per square metre?
Both appear in the market. Convert carefully: 1 m² ≈ 10.76 ft². Enter a consistent per-m² rate in this tool, or convert ft² rates first. Confirm thickness, finish (polished, honed), and whether fixing is included.
Does this include skirting and stair treads?
The base calculation is the main floor rectangle. Add skirting as extra lineal area or a separate takeoff. Stairs need tread/riser pieces and usually higher waste — estimate them on their own schedule.
How is this different from ceramic tile calculators?
The geometry is similar, but stone is often larger, heavier, and priced differently, with different adhesive and handling waste. Use the ceramic tile tools for small-format tiles and this calculator for marble/granite slab or large stone tile packages.
